Skalidis Apartments are situated in the resort of Tolo, Argolida in the Peloponnese, just 1.5 hours from Athens and 45 minutes from the Corinth Canal. Tolo is a holiday resort during the summer months, especially in July and August when many Athenians visit the Argolida for their holidays or weekend breaks, but also it is well visited out of season due to its favourable climate popular with classic groups and history enthusiasts. Tolon has something for all, singles, couples, families and groups, for those who just want to sunbathe on the lovely , sandy beach or swim in the crystal clear waters on a beach holiday, for those more active with a variety of water sports available, for those wishing to visit wonderful archaeological sites of the Argolida and further afield in the Peloponnese.
For those who love Greek Cuisine, Tolo is a paradise with traditional tavernas lining the beach, tables and chairs on the sea front and along the high street more tavernas, grill houses and restaurants, fish restaurants (don't forget to sample the local wines) intermingled with cafes, bars, ice cream parlours, snack bars, the food traditional and authentic. Holidaymakers wander along the high street, window shopping, checking out the Greek Art, Greek Jewellery and other shops or stop for a drink and watch the world go by.
Tolo beach stretches from the harbour down to the sandy beach at the opposite end of the village which is wide and golden, narrowing at certain places with pebble and shingle and widening slightly at the 'harbour end' and the main road follows the half moon shaped bay. Sun beds, umbrellas, pedaloes, watersports, cafes are dotted along the beach and the water is clear and clean, protected by the bay itself and the shallow sea is ideal for children. The islands in the bay (Koronis, Romvi & Daskalio) are great to explore by pedalo or rented motor boat. Take a picnic and snorkelling gear for a real treat.
Take some time to explore Ancient Asini and Kastraki Bay which is on the headland at the end of the bay or take a cruise to one of the islands of Hydra, Spetses or Poros on daily cruises that leave the harbour of Tolo.
